The Torrefire Pellet Stove, which represents the next generation of pellet stoves., is now for sale, and ready to heat your home. The Torrefire Pellet Stove is a quantum leap forward in pellet stove design, weight, safety and operation.

The Torrefire Pellet Stove is a radical approach to pellet stove design, with a long list of features to back up that claim.  About the only thing this stove has in common with a traditional stove is that it burns wood pellets, as well as torrefied biomass pellets.

The Torrefire Pellet Stove is exceptionally quiet.  It is a heat exchanger and radiant heater. Another important safety factor is burn-back, or the danger of the fire getting into the hopper where the pellets are stored. There is virtually no possibility of burn-back with the Torrefire Pellet Stove design because the hopper is on top of the stove and the pellet rotor, located inside the hopper, drops pellets through a feed tube vertically into the combustion chamber.  On most pellet stoves the hopper is in the rear, or on the side, and the angular feed tube can clog, making it easier for burn-back to occur.

There are a multitude of important innovations and features in the stylish and attractive Torrefire Pellet Stove, including:

  • No combustion chamber door. The combustion chamber itself is removable and changeable in size.

  • Greater efficiency.  Because it has 50 to 75 percent more heat exchange surface area than standard pellet stoves, while radiating heat 270 degrees.

  • Torrefied biomass pellet fuel source.  This stove burns pelletized wood, as well as torrefied biomass fuel pellets, which burn hotter and more effectively than standard wood pellets.  Adding to this increased efficiency, the stove is designed to burn wood pellet fuel as well as torrefied pellets on a flat plane rather than in a pile, which allows thorough pellet combustion and therefore higher efficiency.  As a result, the Torrefire Pellet Stove delivers as much as one third more heat to the living environment than traditional stoves.

  • Quieter and easier to clean.  The Torrefire Pellet stove features a combustion chamber that does not require constant attention and cleaning.  Operation is also cleaner because there is no door to open when cleaning out the combustion chamber, which virtually eliminates the escape of dust and debris into the home.

  • Installation is easier.  The use of aluminum components greatly reduces the total weight of the stove.  Plus it has a modular design.  The hopper, aluminum trim, combustion chamber, and heat exchanger are separable components.

  • It's safe.  All of the hot surfaces are in the stove's interior and shielded by cool aluminum trim. The top-side hopper design is also an important safety and efficiency feature. Another nice safety feature is the external combustion fan exhaust system, which prevents carbon monoxide leakage into the home.
